Spiritually Speaking: Do you think God created jobs in retail for people with a sense of humor?

Possibly, but it seems the vast majority of them are held by those with no sense of humor.

(And I do indeed know both sides of the coin. I remember working as a cashier a long time ago. I was always nice to the customers. But this one old prissy beeyotch managed to get something from one of her items [I don't remember what] on her expensive little church coat. I made a harmless, humorous crack about it, hoping to make it a little less embarrassing for her. But that crazy biznatch threatened me with a 2-liter bottle of soda - LOL!! It was classic!)

I hear ya, (((Coffee))) I remember well, and always go out of my way to be kind and helpful to those cashiers, etc., who are also kind and helpful :)

I used to love working in the Woman's department of JC Penny's. If a customer became too much of a jerk I would just find the ugliest little garment that they just had to have!!! You would be surprised just how much commission you can make by telling a woman that horizontal stripes make you look skinny instead of thick!! (And it's even funnier when you see them in public showing off their newest outfit only to realize that you sold them the ugliest and most expensive thing on the shelf).

I think that God is merciful. To us who are in retail, we should have a sense of humor, otherwise we would get too frustrated with how people think that we should feel about any given thing under the sun. It's as if we should be part psychologist/ Oracle/ Mind Reader, and punching bag.

God created them to enslave you so you'd make him and a few of his buddies rich selling their junk and trinkets in exchange for barely enough peanuts to pay the rent.

They must be because it's either for the purposes of humor or for murdering psychopaths - cause you either have to laugh at the antics and attitudes of your customers, or come unglued all over them, in messy, loud and permanent ways.

I guess so. My dad works in retail and I think someone would've died already if it weren't for his sense of humor.

God must have a sense of humor if he can make baboons with bright big blue & red butts and Elephants with dongs longer than my arms. :D
