For those that had 3D ultrasounds, a question?

I'm 29 weeks now and I probably won't be able to get one for at least another 3 weeks or so. My husband got this really great side job to make some extra money and he said afterwards, he would really like to go and get a 3D done, he wants to see the baby as much as I do. :) 

A girl I know got one done really far along and her baby's face was all squished up and the pictures didn't come out well because they said there wasn't much room for the baby because she was so close to birth. I don't want to spend the money if it's going to turn out like her pictures did.  

So I'm wondering, what week did you get yours done? Is it too late around 32-33 weeks to get good pictures of the baby?

Well the sonographer told me it's best between 24 and 32weeks to get it done, she told me that anytime before that your baby will be too thin and anytime after it your baby might be too squashed in there. 

I think 32weeks would be fine, i think 33 might be pushing it though because babies put on weight fast at that stage.

Have a look around some websites that shows you pictures at all different stages, i've seen on alot of websites that at 36weeks and above is when the baby looks really squashed up and not as nice, so i think you might be ok, it's upto you though. I don't think you'd regret getting it done, it's a good experience a 3d ultrasound, especially seeing what your baby looks like.

Well I got mine done at 29 weeks because it's recommended that chubbier moms get it done around that time and because it was Valentine's Day weekend. I think 32-33 weeks is perfect and you'll get some great shots...a picture comes out clear when you drink tons of water 2 days before the 3D and the day of. I had great pictures and the tech said because it seemed I drank plenty of water...good luck!

I think I was 28 or 29 weeks at Valentine's Day and my husband took me to get one, the pictures came out so well that my friend used one of the pics on my cake for my baby shower.  You can see her features so well, she looks like my husband w/ my chin.
