Because it sounds too much like Haggis...and no one likes Scottish food...not even the Scottish.

I actualy just recently heard a message quoting Haggai 1:5, tieing it in with an NT message.

Then said God, said Haggai, yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens and the earth, and the sea, and the day land...

(By the way, Haggai was the only bible prophet that snored while awake and usually not when sleeping.)

Because it is one of the shortest books in Biblical literature, only 2 chapters and deals mainly with the rebuilding of the temple.

The "key" verse is the prophecy in 2:7

Haggai 2:7 - And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

I like Haggai 2:4, "....For I am with you,' declares the LORD Almighty"

  • Because the name sounds ugly!
