Can any help me... with this subject on child support?
I live in texas, on child support, does the father still have to pay child support if my daughter goes to college, I was told by a friend that if the child goes to college the father must still pay for child support till the child graduates or does it stop at the age of 18. Thank you so much for your time and help.

Under Texas Law, when the child is 18 AND graduates high school the support ends.

It depends on what the child support order says. Most of the time they are set up to pay until the child graduates from high school (even if they have already turned 18 before graduation). My son turns 18 at the beginning of his senior year, and my ex has to pay child support until he graduates from HS.
I don't think I've known anyone that had to pay for college. The child is considered an adult and is responsible for themselves - many people pay for their own college.

As long as the child is in school (including college) the father must pay child support.

best to ask this question on lawyer.com but as far as i know the child support stops at 18 , there is nothing that says you must pay till the child gets out of college sorry.

It depends on what the judge said in the divorce decree. Most cases, the support continues if the child goes to college, but cuts off at the end of the 4 years.

You need to check your divorce papers. Sometimes it says 18 and sometimes it says 21 or until done with college which ever is first.

In TX, cs ends at 18, or until the end of the senior year of hs. If your divorce decree says otherwise, it supercedes the normal expectations.
