Paratrooper burial question...?

I was just thinking about my grandfather who was a paratrooper during the Korean War. He survived and lived a good life before, sadly, passing away before I was born. I was wondering if they do something with regards to their boots. I vaguely remember something about that from my grandmother, but she died two years ago and I can't ask her.

The boots are usually displayed at the funeral or memorial service. Most Airborne are buried with the wings pinned to their clothing.

The memorial service might have a pair of highly polished paratrooper boots, a rifle with the bayonet on the ground and a helmet on the butt of the rifle and perhaps a picture of the deceased in military uniform.

Contact your local American Legion, If he was a legion member they will provide whatever is needed. If not they may still do some ceremony and even the 21 gun salute. They will at least provide you with information.
