Priming engine before startup?

How soon before you start a crate engine must you have primed it? Basically, if I prime the oil pump well this weekend, but don't start it till next weekend, will I have a problem?

Once it's primed, it's primed. Like the car in your driveway, it doesn't bleed back down. Fire that mutha up!
