Is twice a week often enough to maintain cardiovascular strength?

I have had problems lifting recently reaching a sort of plateau that has been very frustrating for me. It has been 4 months since I have put any time into cardio and I think it could benefit me on my lifts. I have decided to take time off and do some cardio. This week and maybe another half of a week, I am doing intense sprinting and other explosive cardio to try to increase my endurance (concerning short periods of time like lifting) significantly. Whenever I resume lifting, I do not want to interfere with my lifts too much; is twice a week enough to keep my cardiovascular strength?
