What bit can I use for my horse?

I have a horse that does not like just about any kind of bit. She will not turn left and runs backwards throwing her head. She has had her teeth checked and wolf teeth removed. I use as little hands as I can riding her as she is extremely light. Generally the stronger the bit, the worse she acts. She rides fine in a mechanical hackamore, but I can't show her in that. The only bit she likes is a Chris Cox fixed D-ring snaffle like this http://www.chris-cox.com/catalog/product_info.php?... but soon she'll be too old to show in that and will have to have a shanked bit. What can I use instead?

There are some jointed shanked bits that you can use that horses tend to like. I would start by maybe letting her wear it but not putting pressure on it. So maybe lunge her in it and put it on while you groom. This way she can play with it and get used to it. Also if you have a friend or a trainer or someone that has a bunch of bits maybe try some of theirs to see what might work. Bits are way to expensive to just buy and find out your horse does not like. Trust me! Then when you put the bit in try doing some bending to the side and excercises on the ground. When you feel her give release the pressure. Start by asking only for a little bend (like you are trying to get her to turn her head around and touch her girth area) As she learns to give start asking for a little more of a bend.

Here are a couple of bits:
