How to type theta and "squared" in Yahoo Answers?
I noticed in this mathematics question:
http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ai...
the answerer managed to get both a proper Greek theta and a superscripted 2 (representing a squared) in to the answer. Looking at the HTML source and copying the answer in to a text editor indicates that this isn't an escape sequence. How does one type these characters?

There are two ways to access special characters.
1. Go to Run in Start Menu and type "charmap" without quotation marks.
2. Hold Alt button on your keyboard and type the special character's reference number on the Number Pad. Here is a list of the reference numbers

eg. To type ², hold Alt and key in 253 from the Number Pad.

For theta and other symbols such as infinity ( ∞ ) and not equal to ( ≠ ) open Microsoft Word and go to insert symbol. Then you can copy and paste.
For powers, use the hat symbol -- e.g. x^4
I don't know how to get the superscript. Sorry.
You might think copying from Word again works but it doesn't.

If you are using windows,
you have an application called Character Map.
I have it under Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools
But the exact location may vary.
Scroll and click on the character you want, then click select.
Then in the question or answer box, paste it. (ctrl v)
