If he doesn't, your favorite and my favorite, Mark Martin, can have one more thing in common. Both could be considered one of the best to never win a title. He still has a few years left in him, so we'll see what happens. I hope to see Jeff win a title before he's done, though, whether or not Mark gets one himself.

    No

The Chase has evolved in such a way that only a truly dominate driver can win the Title. Burton had an outside shot in the old scoring system which rewarded consistancy. If you look at the last 2 or 3 chases you will see that the Champion has averaged a rediculous finish like top 5. Burton has never been that dominate so I don't expect him to start now.

Two years ago Gordon averaged a top 5-10 finish and lost to Johnson. Your champion will need to win 3-4 races in the chase which eliminates every but Johnson, Gordon, Edwards, Kyle Busch.

Busch needs to avoid races like Texas were he finished 30+ because in the chase Johnson will get so far ahead you can't catch up!

I'd love to see him do it, but the fact of the matter is that he's getting pretty old, and I just don't think he has the right driving style for today's champion. The conservative method just doesn't work since the inception of the new point system.

With that said, I think they really need to look into mandating some more parts of the car... The gaps are getting a little to large, especially on your larger progressively banked tracks. If they did that, which they won't, it would give Burton a much better chance.

  • I think that he has a good chance to win one. Jeff Burton is a great driver but always seems to have bad luck in the chase.

I really think he is Championship material and of Course with a Championship Caliber team. It's all of a matter of How he approaches every race weekend in consistent fashion and is their for the end. Which he has proved time and time again. Qualifies terrible but by the end of the race he's sitting well inside safely in the Top 10. Scott Miller is a great crew chief. I hope and really do hope Mr. "President" Burton can win one for himself and a a team that is wonderful to him.

Jeff Burton is a great driver but I dont think he will win a Cup championship :)

He already is a champion, in my opinion, but I don't think he will ever win the Sprint Cup Series Championship. His consistency is undeniable but at times I think he lacks that extra gear to propell him to more wins. He might have a better chance under the old format but I don't think those last 10 races favor him, at least when compared to the likes of Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards and a couple of other drivers. Jeff Burton is one of, if not the most classy guy in all of NASCAR.

I don't think so.Jeff has the same disease that has kept Mark Martin from being a champion all of these years-he is too nice and not aggressive enough.Unfortunately, that is what it takes to be a champion, especially these days with all of the competition.Jeff has the talent and the team but I don't see it happening.Don't worry about it.Jeff is still one of the greater drivers and definitely one of the greater personalities out there. You have a good one.

Shawna Robinson replaced into the final nextel cup driving force. Her sponsor replaced into Topicana Juice. She replaced right into a competent driving force yet on no account fairly had the sponsor help the different drivers have. If she did she could make a run at prevailing a race yet no longer championship. Danica Patrick is the ultimate women persons driving force now interior the indy series and that i think of she would be in a position to win the championship there quickly.

Jeff Burton is a great person and an awesome driver. Unfortunately his peak years are behind him. He can still make the chase, but I don't think he has a championship team.

It seems no driver has a chance unless Jimmie Johnson retires! LOL

Don't be suprised to see Burton sneak up on everyone a grab a title.
