do i need to replace calipers in pairs?
i have a 98 blazer and had brake work done on it. now one of the caliers is not working. i was gonna try and use a c clamp to move the pistons but if i need to replace it then i was wondering if i really have to do it in pairs. thanks.

No you don't have to replace them in pairs. The only thing that can make braking uneven is the pads. The pads do the stopping by being applied by the caliper. Hydraulic systems exert equal pressure through out the circuit so unless the pads were different, braking will be even providing all calipers are working.

No. If you only have a concern with one caliper, that's all you need to replace.
Just be sure the other caliper is free and working properly.

you don,t have to put both on as long as the other 1 is still working good.

That's the only way I would do it so the breaking will be even.With one side being messed up my guess the other isn't much better.
