Why do so many east asian people look the same?

Geographic isolation, and your own personal ignorance -- there is a great deal of variety and and number of distinctive looks between different groups (Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Cambodian, etc.) if you could just be bothered to learn about them...

It depends on who you're used to being around. I'm a BBC (British born Chinese) and so I can usually tell British people apart quite easily. When I was younger I wasn't very interested in East Asian culture, which I very much am now. When I started being more interested I found it difficult to tell people apart, but now I find it easy. Usually facial features vary a lot in East Asians (at least that's what I have found).

The reason why many people share the same characteristics, such as the dark hair and eyes, is simply down to genetics. Many of the people you've seen may have the genes for blue eyes, for example, but the dark eyes gene is more dominant.

Look more closely at people's facial features, rather than hair and eyes. Skin tones tend to vary a lot too. (Both my siblings have a different tones to me).

western culture have been very well educated about western culture. draw a guy with a thin black beret and Hitler mustache and westerners can tell you're drawing a person with French and German features.

on the other hand, if you draw a guy with a dragon on his t-shirt and a big red sun in the background, all they know is you're drawing an Asian. They have not learned enough about Asian cultures to tell that you're drawing a guy with a Chinese themed t-shirt and Japanese background.

it's all about how much the general public knows. the western public knows very little about Asians, so they do not know enough to tell the difference.

To be honest I think it depends on what you're used to.

A lot of white people probably look the same to East Asians.

I have a lot of Chinese friends, and now I see noticeable differences immediately whereas before I didn't.

One issue is that a very specific ethnic group - the Han Chinese - represent such a huge number of people. There are other Chinese ethnic groups that look different from the Han. But they are much smaller in number.

Whereas, southern Italians look different from Swedes, but there aren't a billion Swedes who overwhelm the Italians and make them into an obscure minority group.

humorous stuff, I constantly theory Korean women had to be white I mean they constantly yelled that outloud while Foreiners Or foreign places new newshounds circulate by using i assume thats why they hate u men plenty, using fact the different korean women are so annyoing asserting they want to be white so it fuels anger with of their community stable element u informed of east asians provided that it became south east asians you will possibly were ripped aside and burried alive yet south east asians wont handle you that way they are open minded, and not plenty of their people scream out "i want to be white" so as that they dont care its basically they are uncomplicated to get quite violent

Why are Americans are obsessed with race? They are that insecure? Let it go... Get a clue and let it go...

Maybe it's just you. I went hiking with a group of 15 east asians today(strangers) and I could easily tell them apart.
