The actual wrestling action. moves and finishers are all for real, while the results, match finishes and feuds are all pre-arranged and rehearsed.Jeff's dog Jack died in Jeff's trailer fire a while back for real and booking Matt as the culprit is just a storyline.

Wrestling is staged. Whenever you see them do things that you've never see before, they practice it before the match. Examples of this are when John Cena lifted up Big Show and Edge on his shoulders or when Matt Hardy hit a Twist of Fate on Jeff while his head was in the chair. The only "real" moves they do are chops(when the crowd goes wooooo!). But trust me, the "fake" moves just as well. When the wrestlers get hurt, most of the time its due to a botch. A botch is when the mess up and actually hurt there opponents or themselves. Kind of like at the One Night Stand™ PPV last year when Triple H broke Randy Orton's collarbone. This was definitely real and Randy didn't land on his back right when got thrown out of the ring. This caused the match to end prematurly. So the bottom line is yes wrestling is fake, but the bumps and bruises are real and those wrestlers put their bodies on the line for the fans(excluding Batista, he just does it the large paycheck).

Most of the wrestling you see on television is fake. They might actually be hitting each other, but that's just to make it look real and it isn't NEARLY as painful as it looks. All of the story lines are made up. No one killed anyone else's dog, "rivals" don't really hate each other, and "partners" might not even be friends in real life. Really the only thing that actually happens is when wrestlers get killed in accidents, like Owen Hart.

    it is entertainment

they traing and stay in shape and are big and strong so that they can take the punishment.

But it is not all real. They pummel each other but it is acting. The contat would really hurt average size people but for the pro wrestler it does not phase them.

Seriously if you hit someone over the head with a chair you fracture their skull. Some of the blow if real would kill people or put them in the hospital.

    It is entertainment by athletes

The WWE had announced years before that it was preplanned and fake. Now im not going all out and saying its entirely fake. the hazards (like for instance falling off a ladder, slamming your body into a table, etc.) are very true and dangerous. the fighting is fake though, minus the body chops. THAT IS THE ONLY MOVE THAT IS REAL.

Wrestling is real, but the result of every match is not real. That is planned. And Matt did not kill Jeff's dog, his dog died in a housefire.
