Are animals more mature than humans when it comes to death?

I have seen that animals have a more naturalistic behavior when facing death than humans. They remain calm and wait for what comes without fighting it or fearing it. The only humans I have read about having a similar attitude were the indigenous people of North America.

Most people that realize death is near are terrified, become sad or nasty to others.

Why are we humans so terrified of death when all other animals aren't?

is it the animals that are ignorant or us?

Humans are sophisticated animals! Humans cling onto everything possible that is within their grasp.

Animals do not fear death, for they are much to busy with life's activities, to consider their own death. They recognize death only when one close to them has passed over. Especially their mate or one that through the years they have shared many adventures with.

If perchance a human being were to "die before the Angel of Death catches hold of them", they would no longer fear death. Death would then be fully understood and accepted. There are very few human beings on the planet that truly understand this concept.

Death is but a transformation for those that have died before death captures them.

Each human can develop into a whole new species of human, but that person's genetic lineage must stay separate from eveyone. People have been combining their genetic lineage after so many generations. The effect is that people will continue to be only one species. The last great split was when people and monkeys separated into different species. So if you want to be your own species, be sure that your decendents NEVER mate with anyone else ever again. Eventually (millions of years), your genes will develop where it can no longer combine with other people.

  • Animals are atheists. They do not die in fear of going to hell, or wondering what happens next. They accept that life has been lived, and death for them means life for another, so why would they be afraid?

Humans are more aware of pain, and of suffering, and the countless ways to die. Animals know nothing other than they life they live.

Animals are more mature when it comes to most matters.

Humans are one of the most inferior animals on the planet.

@Who am I: Your correct, but that is not a natural circumstance. If you have seen how humans slaughter animals then you cannot be surprised that they are terrified, or that humans are the least evolved animal on the planet.

they're more mature about it because they haven't spent their whole lives worrying about what happens afterwards. same as the native americans, they believed in the whole "cycle of life" and believed that the only thing they had to do after dying was decay so some grass can grow over their bodies and feed the animals that they ate in their lifetime.

once you embrace the belief that nothing happens after death, it doesn't seem so terrifying.

Huh? Millions and millions of people -- across all ethnic and religious lines -- meet the end of their lives having accepted it and no longer fearing it.

My grandmother, who passed away recently, was one such person -- and she was not a Native North American.

Why do you think that only Native North Americans face death this way? No offense, but this is multicultural liberalism and political correctness gone WAY out of control ... !

We are. Or maybe i should say our Mind is. Animals live in the moment and accept everything just how it is. We have the ,unfortunate or fortunate , ability to imagine what it would be without your "self" not existing. So this "no more me" Produces fear.

Animals have the innate ability to say "I don't give a F***" It's near magic, I tell you. And if you're truly interested in the death and grieving process of animals, run a psych study on it.

Some Native American - various tribes have ways of seeing existence that logically joins them with the universe -

    differently,

animals lack in human-like belief (thought) systems and attachment - accept the moment as it comes - unless directly threatened - perhaps they instinctively are similar...

If everyone (of 'western' thought) were truly awake to the fact that we belong to universe and the universe belongs to us - it would be less unnerving to have to deal with the conflict of all our false belief systems that don't serve us well.

    cool question -

    thank you!

Animals are far smarter and more spiritually intune than humans.

Humans are pathetic. Coming from a human :)

Start taking on the unconcerned approach of an animal, and you will find your life becomes a hell of alot more pleasant.
