Yet another Diva Cup question...?
I also saw on the website where "for hygienic reasons" you should replace your cup every year! Do any of you do this? I thought I saw somewhere that it would last 30 years! Am I crazy?

No, they pretty much can last as long as the silicone will hold up. Usually what ive heard is 10 years.....but im sure could be more under the right conditions and taken care of properly.
I think they may have added that note on hoping that some women would. You do have to realize what their competion is. Tampons and pads are disposed of every 6-8 hours. Easily spend at least $5 a period on them. So at least $60 a year the tampon and pad companys get from each woman that uses them. Diva cup is about $20 depending on where you get it. And that can last you 10 years before you are spending any more to their benifit. They dont have the income to push for a ton of advertising to try to get more women to use them, so they do have a smaller clientel as most women dont even know of the option. To get women to replace them every year would increase their income some, but still cost less then tampons or pads.

If its a reusuable one and not a disposable one then it is washable/boilable and will last a few years before it starts to show signs of wear like the rubber/silicone may get brittle spots on it or may develop a small tear...on the menstrual cup forums I read that the girls there often expect to keep their cups for several years (around 5 at least ) before wanting to replace them.

That's wrong.
The company itself says they last 10 years.
If you are using the smaller size, it lasts 10 years or until you turn 30 or have a baby, whichever comes first.
