  • Mix up in perscription medication - legal issue?

I know, none of you are doctors, lawyers, etc and my best route is to talk to one or both of those kind of people, I'm aware of that. I just want your opinion.

My husband has accidentally been taking the wrong medication for about 3 months now and we just found that out. He should have been taking Lamictal (anti-seizure/nerve/prescribed) but has been taking Tramadol (pain/not prescribed.) After asking the doctor and the pharmacist and getting transcripts - it is a pharmacy error. Is there any legal action that can be taken from this? He is on a couple of other medications so I'm worried about the long term effects, etc. But in short, the pharmacy gave the wrong perscription! What now?

  • Just replaced the fuser on HP Officejet 3050 and now paper jams?

Paper keeps getting jammed no matter what I'm doing. It might be able to print one page just fine but the next one will jam. What could be causing this? It will scan, copy and print (at least when it can do one page) just fine but anything more than that and it's jam city! Do I need to tear the whole thing apart again?? I've followed the repair manual (as I obviously couldn't even begin to get in there without one!) so I'm really at a loss now.

  • How to play an old PC game on Vista?

I finally re-found one of my favorite games ever: Dark Earth by Kalisto/Microprose. I'm so excited!!

The only thing is I have Windows Vista and only a few minutes into the game it crashes and sends me right back to the desktop. It downloaded fine, and it seems I can only play it in the 32K color mode (I think thats right) which doesn't really matter to me, I just want to play it! Is there a way (without going back to 95/98/XP/etc) to play this still?

Please be very simple - I am no computer genius, thank you!

  • Do you need a valid driver's license to work as an auto mechanic in Indiana?

I would think so because you at some point will need to take cars for a test drive or something. Do you legally need one to work on a vehicle?

  • What to feed my cat with oxalate-related FLUTD?

I have a neutered boy cat (approx. 6 years old or so) who was peeing in places very much not his literbox. That went on for a few months because I have two cats and I wasn't sure which one it was. I've took him to the vet maybe 3 - 4 weeks ago and determined that he is not blocked and has oxalate crystals in his urine. He got an antibiotic shot that was supposed to be a longer term acting one (about 2 weeks) and unfortunately I don't have the money to go back and have him checked again (I know I really need to) because he is still peeing in other places and I don't have yet another $150 bucks to figure all this out! I have not been feeding him a diet specificly for the oxalate crystals (again, I know I need to!) but again price is an issue (I have a toddler and just got my hours cut at work.) I've looked at those perscription foods but really don't have $40+ to spend every month on just one cat's food...

Long story short what can I do to feed him? Are there non-perscription foods that will help? Is there anything else I can do to help him get more water and make his urine more alkaline since they are the oxalate crystals? Is this just a habit for him now because its gone on so long? I'm tired of cleaning up pee!!

  • How to begin investing for retirement?

I'm 26 and I only have a 401k with just under 4000 dollars in it. I've been looking at a Roth IRA but its all so confusing for me. What is the best way to make my money work for me? Any articles or books I should read?

  • I want to sell my house but...?

Currently we own a 2 bedroom house that is approximately 920 sq. feet and we are talking of expanding our family (we already have one son.) According to www.zillow.com our house is worth 72K. We just refinanced back in May at a 5% fixed for 91K.

My question is, would it be a wise thing to move in the next year or two?? We are talking of finding a good HUD or bank owned property. Something that needs minor cosmetic work, nothing major to get it cheaper but obviously bigger that what we have now.

Any advice? Any websites or books I should read?

  • 15 month old has a yellow tongue?

I was brushing my toddlers teeth tonight (always a challange) and happened to notice that his tongue had a yellowish coating.

He was acting normal, normal appetite, no bad breath smell. If I didn't notice his tongue I would assume that everything was perfectly ok with him. Any suggestions or ideas?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, ask a Dr. I know, but its obviously 8:30 at night so that isn't an option... Thanks all! :)

  • I'm looking for a farming-style online game?

It isn't farm frenzy but I can't remember the name. You raise the feed for the cows, raise the cows then slaughter them while also running the fast food side of things. Ideas??

  • How likely am I to find a rare peice of US currency?

So I work for a grocery store and handle money for the front end. How likely am I to find a star note, ladder sequence of numbers, rare/interesting coin, etc. while working?

I'm not really interested in this to sell the items, but as a numismatist it is just really interesting to me!

  • Difference between 1.57, 1.61 and 1.67 index lenses?

    My prescription is:

    OD-SPH: -9.25 X OD-CYL: -0.75 OD-AXIS: 15

    OS-SPH: -8.75 X OS-CYL: -0.75 OS-AXIS: 165

Yes, its bad I know. I usually wear contacts but I'm wanting a change so I'm trying glasses.

So I ordered glasses online and they arrived today. I'm very pleased with the frame but the lenses are a little thicker than what I thought. I have 1.57 index now because it came free. I have thicker plastic frames so they are not very noticeable but would I get more benefit or visual clarity if I go with a 1.67 lens? Or would I not notice anything other than a thinner lens? As I said I have thicker plastic frames and I don't plan on getting the rimless or half rim frames so am I good? Or am I missing something by not having the 1.61 or 1.67 lenses?

  • Yet another Diva Cup question...?

I also saw on the website where "for hygienic reasons" you should replace your cup every year! Do any of you do this? I thought I saw somewhere that it would last 30 years! Am I crazy?

  • Alternative to Diva Wash soap?

I just bought my Diva Cup and while I have not received it yet I know I'm going to need to wash it at some point. In the FAQ's on the website, it has a Yes and No listing of what to use to clean it and under the No category it lists castile soap. I was going to use my Dr. Bronners unscented baby mild castile soap but now I'm not so sure.

I know the whole point is to not leave a residue and such, but should I break down and buy the diva wash or is there another alternative that you know of? It just seems so expensive, and while I know I use only a bit, I hate to buy something if I have something else on hand that will work just as well!

  • What is the difference between 1.58, 1.61 and 1.67 index lenses?

I ordered some glasses online a week or so ago (from zenni optical) and the 1.58 lenses come standard so to speak. I was looking online and apparently the 1.61 and 1.67 are for higher perscriptions. Mine is:

    -9.25 -.75 015

    -8.75 -.75 165

So does that mean that when people are looking at me that it will look like I'm looking through coke bottoms and my eyes will be all magnified since I'm getting the lower quality? Or does that just mean that I wont get as crisp of vision?

  • Period and breast feeding question!?

I just started my period yesterday and I'm 7 months post partum. I've begun introducing solid foods yet still nursing/pumping 4-6 times a day. I've noticed a drop in my milk supply (1-2 ounces TOTAL from BOTH breasts!!) when I pump when I would be getting about 2 or 3 from each side! Is this normal to have a drop in your milk supply when your period begins?

  • I have a baby food question!?

I've just begun my son on solids (I'm making it all from scratch right now!) and I was wondering... He's had sweet potatoes and bananas right now. Lets say he doesn't have sweet potatoes (or whatever) for 6 months. Do I need to redo the whole "introduction" thing again? Or, since he has had no reaction" is it ok to just feed him like normal?

  • Homemade baby food question...?

Ok, so I pretty much know the basics (wait at least 4 days between new foods, wash everything, you know, the "duh" things...) and I've read both www.wholesomebabyfood.com and "Super Baby Food" by Ruth Yaron (both of which I love!!) but reading about something and doing it are two completely different things! My son is going to be 6 months old in a week or so and I'm beginning to gather my wits and things that I need! What hints or tips can you give me that you've learned about on your own that you may have glossed over or that were not in anything that you've read? Any advice will be helpful and appreciated!
