What kind of medical exam should we get?

Me and my girlfriend have decided to start having sex, but we want to make sure we are both healthy. What kind of medical exam(s) should we take to make sure we don't have any STDs???

I can see someone already posted the different classes of medical exams i.e. 1,2,3 with the different durations. Honestly, all 3 have very similar exams, and the only difference I could tell is duration, and how much more the doctor charges you to perform the exam. Vision, 20/20 corrected (glasses, contacts ok) Your doctor will use the usual eyechart that you've seen a million times, so no surprise there. Hearing, make sure you are responsive. No technical specifications. Reflex, doc will hit your knee cap, make sure you have normal reflex. Otherwise, it's just chit-chat about your normal health... Usually the whole appointment lasts about 10-20 minutes. Doctor is more looking at the general health of the applicant, rather than nick-picking any details that you may have. Though the first exam with a doctor will be a more thorough, and subsequent ones will seem like a friendly visit to an old friend.
