your pc was infected by a trojan rootkit virus. well avast, when you use default settings, doesn't scan for rootkits. I guess you computer is still infected. this is a serious problem, but don't even think of reinstalling your OS. I don't know much about avast. try going to options in avast. just check the scanning option and make sure that rootkit scan is enabled. its a problem you can solve. When your pc is affected with this virus, then, when you right click a local disk, the first option will be something like AUTORUN or some other jumbled up alphabets.

Although your system is clean of the executable virus, the associated 'autorun.inf' file can still exist in the root of the drive and you have to manually delete it. To do so, Open My Computer, Go to Tools|Folder options and go to the view tab. Scroll down and and click 'Show hidden files and folder', below it, uncheck the option 'Hide protected operating system files (recommended)' and click 'Yes' on the warning message. now, explore all your drives and delete any autorun.inf files which exist in the root of the drives. Restart the computer. If this does not solve your problem, create another user account and try to access the drives.

Dont download any more files until u install some antivirus and fix the problem...

Until then u can Right Click Each folder and Explore the files...

the only solution is to reinstall your operating system. I would suggest you to use any other anti virus sofware such as norton internet security 2009 cracked, in future,. Avast removes many system files which cause many such problems. Happy computing!!!]

first remove virsus from u r system.then try again by double click on those drives.if it happens same again then right click on those drives u will able to find an option called open.follow that steps.if u want remove permentaly then format the c drive. and rest of drives format it. i think u know how to format
