Activities for children?

Can anyone give me any idea of activities to do with two girls aged 3 and 4?

I do some arts, craft and baking with them but would like a book / good website that gives me loads of ideas/activities that I can do with them.

I have looked at some websites but they haven't been great. Has anyone found a really good book or website that covers a good range of activites for different age and ability groups?

I don't want to buy too many books or have to go to too many different websites every time I want to do something new so somewhere that has it all in one would be good - somewhere with cooking/games/craft etc ideas all in one and that just doesn't cover one age group

Thanks for any help!

I have found that The Mailbox publications are a wonderful resource. They have "magazines" for the preschool level that are great for educational-fun-inexpensive ideas. They also have publications called The Mailbox Magic Moments- arts and crafts, cooking, science. Check your local library for all of them. Ours carries past issues of the Mailbox Preschool Magazine and many of the other books. Your local library will be a great resource for you for other types of books as well...see if you have a parent/teacher section...arts/craft sessions etc...then you don't have to buy the books yourself! Sometimes I go browse at a teacher's store or book store and write down titles and authors and go to the library to find the book or interlibrary loan it. Good luck!

with my boys it is different as they don't really like making up bracelets out of macaroni and painting them or making daffodils out of egg boxes so we go out side a lot and make things from leaves into nice pictures and as sad as it sounds make bows and arrows.

there are websites out there that do have a few things on them but I find them quite boring as I have done them already or are not suitable for my boys.

Try asking the girls what they like, maybe try and make soft toys together or get shoe boxes and make a dolls house using match boxes as chest of drawers, tin foil as a mirror for them etc.

Go out and find things such as making pictures out of leaves and twigs etc or get a book on insects and go out to see how many they can find.

There are a lot of things you can do with children that age, it does depend on what they like so far though I have not came across a good book or website that covers enough of different ideas. let them use their imagination and think of things you would be surprised at some of their answers I just asked my son to help with this question and he said play at being dinosaurs, I said they are little girls and he said they can play at being girl dinosaurs lol.
