Is Quentin Tarantino going to direct this weeks' Idol Ford music video?

Because, if not what the heck was he doing on the show last night? Giving tips on singing? This was like Tiger Woods giving tennis lessons...

Would you WANT to see this week's Ford music video directed by Quentin Tarantino? Could you imagine that?

LOL!! That was funny about Tiger Woods. I thought Quentin was an odd choice for a mentor also. To be honest, I am SO sick of those Ford commercials!! They are awful!

He was on the show because they were doing songs from movies and no one knows more about movie music than Quentin Tarantino. Rather than just slapping a soundtrack in the background, he makes the music fit the scene. What would Reservoir Dogs' opening "walking scene" have been without "Little Green Bag"? What would the infamous Mr. Blonde torture scene have been without "Stuck in the Middle with you"? What would the Jack Rabbit Slim's Twist contest in Pulp Fiction have been without "C'est La Vie (You Never Can Tell)". These songs become synonymous with the scenes he puts them in because as he's thinking up the scenes,he's thinking of the best songs to complement them. And if he can't get rights to a certain song, he'll scrap the whole scene because they have to go together. No one knows how to wed movies and music like Tarantino does, so that's why they got him as the mentor for the Soundtrack theme. I think he was the obvious choice.

And,yes, I would love to see him direct their music video. I think he'd be a great music video director. In Kill Bill, the scene where the 5,6,7,8s are performing in the club right before all hell was about to break loose, he kept cutting back and forth, so he let us enjoy an awesome performance, while building up tension and suspense for what was to happen next and it looked like a really cool music video. And by the way, he kind of "discovered" the 5,6,7,8s. He heard them in a Japanese clothing store while filming Kill Bill and he thought it was so cool to hear Japanese girls doing Surf Rock. So he asked if he could have the store copy of the CD and first thought of just playing their song in the movie. But then he decided to have them play live instead. And after the movie, their version of "Woo-Hoo" has been played repeatedly in commercials for Vonage and such. So I think the man knows a thing or 2 about music and I'd love to see him direct our Idols in a video. That would rock.

Yeah, I didn't think it was such a great idea to have him on the show last night...he should be directing movies, not American Idol singers.

And no, I don't really wanna see this week's Ford music video if it's direct by him. lol....

I don't know if he is but I would love for him to. He is an awesome director. No he isn't a singer but he did direct the entertainers in the right direction.

No, Jonas Akerlund did. Tarantino let the Pussy Wagon be in the video.

  • I would love it if he directed it =D

I really hope he did...I never thought of it but there is a chance he did.
