Did you participate in the Tea Party Tax Protest today?

If not, why not? I would have been there with bells on if I would have known about it earlier. I think our Government needs to see how against all this overspending so many people are.

I had advocated in many postings that the Main Street Democrats are just as upset about the overspending and incorrect uses of the TARP bail out money. Instead of the hoped for unity as we the people in the Tea Party Tax Protest it became clear that the Republicans had no interest in including anyone who was not exactly of their party or different in political ideology (Not Conservative in every way). So I just stayed out of it.

Cut Throat B**** it seems as if you are arguing that the tea parties are in support of these things that you stated. The tea parties being held acoss the nation are actually being held aginst these factors that the governmen has forced upon the people. I'm just pointing this out for other readers, if I was incorrect in my observation that you are stating what the tea parties are BEng held in support for then I apologize.

  • What's the point in going to a republican protest when they are protesting against themselves? Did we forget that fast that the Republicans were the one's who got us in this mess to begin with? Aren't the Republicans for big business? Doesn't that mean, tax cuts FOR the big businesses? Isn't that what we don't want to see?

I hope Americans didn't fall for the trap into believing that the Republicans are doing the right thing by running this protest. Because when it all comes down to it, the Republicans were the one's who felt that middle America makes excuses for their economic problems and their need for welfare. Don't fall for the trap!

Yes, and the crowd was so large that the organizers ran out of fliers before it was even scheduled to begin!! I think Washington is underestimating the size of this movement. There were people of all party affliations screaming, "Enough is enough!" This is only the beginning. Those who are supposed to be representing us better stand up and listen or they will find themselves out of a job like so many of their fellow Americans.

Interesting how middle-classers were pretty patient with Bush's pro-wealthy tax policies whereas the upper-class, who are better able to afford higher taxes, are raising such a stink about losing a few dollars from their million-dollar bank accounts.

The ones who are truly 'suffering' from these tax hikes are those making $250K+. Where were you when Bush was spending billions in Iraq?

Face it, this is a protest where only the rich are complaining. You people are in the minority.

No. I researched what they were protesting:

    "want government controlled health care?

want to take away the right to vote with a secret ballot in union elections?

refuse to stop the flow of millions of illegal immigrants into our country?

appoint a defender of child pornography to the Number 2 position in the Justice Department?

want to force doctors and other medical workers to perform abortions against their will? "

EDIT: My quotes are a cut and paste from the website I attached. I don't think my opinion on these issues is relevant. I think the fact that they go far beyond the fiscal issues is relevant.

  • I am no longer a Republican so why would I want to be involved in a Republican event like that?
