What was the song Prince heard on the radio when he found out his wife was pregnant?
He re-did an old song, I think it was from the 60's, when he heard his wife was pregnant...he was at a gas station I think. Anyone remember the song? It was on one album, probably in the 90's. He did a beautiful recording of it.

By this, I am asking if they are politically neutral, or if they tend to slant one way or the other.
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAnyone else out there been diagnosed with adrenal fatigue or adrenal exhaustion?
My doctor did the saliva tests and said I have adrenal exhaustion. I have read Dr. James Wilson's book, am taking prescription vitamins and herbs to support the adrenals, have altered my diet, and am sleeping and working and breaking on the schedules recommended by my doctor and the book. If you have had this, how long did it take to recover? Is this the same thing as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? I was diagnosed with that in the 1980's, and spent nearly two years recovering, with bouts of this happening most of my adult life. Any tips?
3 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade agoDo you ever get tired of doing the same thing day after day, dishes, laundry, etc?
I love my life, but sometimes I wonder how many times I have washed the same dishes, folded the same pieces of laundry, vacuumed the floors, driven the same roads. My best friend and I were talking, and she said the thing that bugs her the most is just picking up stuff constantly. (She has four kids.) What is your most boring repetitive thing? (By the way, we both love our lives, are grateful we have dishes and stuff and kids and husbands, just got talking about the repetition of it.)
3 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoHow do you keep your spirits up when you are seriously or chronically ill and low in energy?
What are some good ways to keep from getting depressed when you are sick for a long time? I have a neuromuscular disorder called dystonia, and when cold weather comes, I am very limited in my movement. My legs "freeze" and spasm or are so weak I cannot stand. In mild weather, like spring and fall, I do well, and each time the cold comes, (or very hot), my movement is very limited, so I cannot walk with my dogs, drive, or get out of the house for days at a time. Even my ability to work is hindered, because the amount of muscle relaxers I have to take makes my brain foggy, so I cannot do any consulting work.
Each time this happens, (been over a decade now), I get very depressed and have a hard time staying "up". Any suggestions?
3 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoIs it possible to read the entire original version of the President's school speech online?
I cannot see what people are upset about. I am a Republican, and read the text of the speech that was done today, and cannot see where it promotes any agenda, other than individual responsibilty.Apparently, the news reports say that there was something in the original version...can I read that anywhere?
3 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoAny good gift ideas for Father's Day for an older man who cannot walk?
My Father-in-Law has arthritis, as well as several other age related limitations. His only hobbies are word search books and casino gambling. He has difficulty with computers, and spends most of his time at the kitchen table or in bed. Suggestions?
6 AnswersOther - Holidays1 decade agoAre entrepreneurs born, or can the entrepreurial spirit be taught?
What is your opinion? Can the entrepreneurial spirit be taught to adults, or is it nurtured and created in childhood?
I was raised in a store...Most of my really valuable education came from my parents, from learning the lessons of business at a young age, and from seeing things from the business owners point of view since I was little. Two out of three of my siblings are entrepreneurs, and my brother is a bona fide union employee. He never worked in the stores, never had an interest. But my sister and I did, and both have started and sold several small businesses.
My question is because of the government programs that are designed to turn displaced union employees/workers into independent small business owners. Is this possible? Probable?

1 AnswerSmall Business1 decade agoIs the federa government requiring that a CPA do the taxes for all small businesses?
I heard this at a conference, and wondered if it is true. If so, what volume of sales or gross income is the starting point for this? It certainly cannot be done for all small businesses, there just isn't enough CPA's around!
4 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoAre there any computer brands that have customer service centers in the USA?
Not that I am prejudiced, I just want to be sure we can easily understand the people we talk to on help lines if we need them. Service is a huge part of a computer purchase to me, and I want to be able to rely on and understand the techs.
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoI need a new laptop for my business, any suggestions?
I work from home, teach classes, and meet with clients. My laptop travels a lot, and I need something with a moderate price, not fragile, and with a fast processor and about 3gb memory. What do you recommend? (Brand, type, price, etc.)
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoIs there ever a situation that makes it okay to cut off communications with your mother?
I have had three psychologists tell me I shouldn't even speak or have a relationship with my mom because of both the way she raised us and the way she treats me now. We got in a huge fight, one that was many years in the coming, and are not speaking. I had a great relationship with my Dad, and one of her parting lines to me was "If you don't stop putting your Dad on a pedestal, we will never have a relationship." Dad and I were very close, talked nearly every day of my life, and he died a few years ago. Mom had some good points, but they are few and far between. She is a much better Grandma than she was Mom, but I finally spoke up about her being a negative role model to the kids, and said some stuff I regret. I apologized for the angry words, but not the context. She said some really nasty stuff to me too. Any suggestions?
5 AnswersFamily1 decade agoDid you participate in the Tea Party Tax Protest today?
If not, why not? I would have been there with bells on if I would have known about it earlier. I think our Government needs to see how against all this overspending so many people are.
13 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoIs it possible to have Addisons Disease without the hyperpigmentation?
If you have every other symptom, including the hormonal test results and low cortisol levels, hyponatremia, and muscle weakness, could a person have addisons?
I have had years of health problems, many a result of a pituitary tumor treatment that led to what is diagnosed as hemi-dystonia, along with depression, long periods of hospitalization (up to one month at a time) with adrenal failure and hyponatremia. Then it takes months to build back up to being my baseline healthy. I wouldn't have ever thought of this, but my sister just had a dog diagnosed with addisons, and she said its almost exactly like what has been happening with me on and off over the past twenty years.
One more detail...when I have prednisone treatments for ear infections, my whole body feels better, stronger, and my mind is clearer. It is also the treatment I have had following the adrenal failure.
1 AnswerOther - Diseases1 decade agoJust started an aqua aerobics class, and I am super thirsty and peeing constantly. Is this normal?
The exercise felt great, and it is definitely more vigorous than the walking I usually do. The pool is 80 degrees, and we did an hour of exercise. Is the water craving and hyper peeing just my bodies way of getting rid of junk from my liver and muscles from not being used this way, or is it possible to get deyhdrated?
3 AnswersSwimming & Diving1 decade agoAre you buying less than at the same point last year?
Consider all your shopping, from groceries to clothes to cars to gasoline to toys to vacations, etc. Dollar for dollar, are you spending more, less, or about the same?
4 AnswersSociology1 decade agoDo you ever read the phone book?
My Dad used to read phone books when the new ones came, or when he was travelling to a new place. Said you can learn a lot from the ethncity of the last names, like the area's diversity and history; he also liked seeing who the biggest advertisers were in the yellow pages, said it also said much about the sociological makeup of the area.
I do this too. It is quite interesting to see in metropolitan areas if there are more pages of attorneys or doctors, and in places like Vegas you can actually see call girls ads. In our area, its mostly farming related, and insurance and car dealers have the largest ads.
Does anyone else ever do this?
8 AnswersSociology1 decade agoWhat the heck is snopes, and why does it always show up on chain emails?

5 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoHow do I get a burned smell out of my house?
I was steaming artichokes in a copper/steel pan, took my dogs for a walk, and came in and the pan was burned dry, the house was full of smoke, and I cannot seem to get the awful smell out.
Here is what I tried:
Exhaust fan plus central air exchange with windows open
Got the pan out of the house after I realized the smell wasn't washing off.
Burned a soy candle for awhile.
Used Febreze spray. (That worked best.)
Started a load of laundry and dishwasher to get good smells going.
Put a small pot of water on the stove with whole Christmas spices to freshen the air.
Its been about an hour, and the smoke is gone, but the smell is still strong, and now ther are several competing smells. We live in Michigan, and its not really warm enough to keep the windows open. Any other ideas?
