So a total of 17 depending on weather u consider yahioko I would because he did use the style and Shogo amaksuka does not count he did not use the hiten mitsurugi style but his own alteration to it which he called gods sword or Ryu Mitserugi so 17 would be the number of users of the HITEN mitsurugi style.

Do you mean how many users alive or in history (according to the RuroKen series)?

Well at the end of the manga there's only 2 alive, Kenshin and Seijuro, but in the anime there is also Amakusa Shougo, who was taught it by his uncle Hyoue, whom failed the final test of Hiten but survived and taught Shougo. And in Samurai X: Reflection, his son Kenji goes and learns it from Seijuro as well, making the total Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu users that are alive 4.

If you're talking about in history, Kenshin's master is Hiko Seijuro XIII (the 13th), so if you count all the other practitioners of the style in the past, then there is a total of 17 people who learn Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu, including Kenshin, Kenji, Hyoue, and Shougo.

I have a lousy memory so I'm not sure if I'll get this right..

Kenshin's master is the 13th Hiko Seijuro so I guess there are already 13, then there's Kenshin, so that's fourteen. Then there's Shogo Amakusa's sensei who failed to capture the title of being the 13th Hiko Seijuro so that's fifteen, then there's Shogo Amakusa so there's sixteen.

I can't really recall if Kenji really got to study Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu since all that keeps coming back to me are images of Kenji and Yahiko facing each other with Hiko watching (but since he wanted to surpass his father I could say that he probably did) so he could or could not be the seventeenth.

But that man left before becoming the next master (I forget why) and later had a son who he taught the style. The man intended for his son to do well with it, but the child was misguided and even betrayed his father. This man later went to use the moonlight to blind Kenshin (as mentioned above) 3) ""Final Finishing Move""? don't you mean: "The Final attack". I believe it was the (poorly spelled and likely mispronounced) amakakeru rio no heromeki 4) Can't remember. But his master wanted to change it to a swordsman's name. 5) Dang it! can't remember... I should know that one. 6) Hmmmmm, it was only said 2 or 3 times...
