Olive oil question - healthy or less harmful than regular oil?

I was wondering if olive oil was actually good for health or just less harmful than regular cooking oil.

For eg, if something were fried in regular oil, I'd actually squeeze it with a paper napkin to get a little oil out. Would I need to do that for something fried in olive oil also?

Sometimes, oil is oil, because of its high fat content. However, olive oil is very high in monosaturated fats, which is a "healthy fat" (as opposed to saturated and trans fats) for your body. "Regular oil", including canola or vegetable oil, include more saturated fats and less of those healthy fats.

You still need to limit your oil intake, but in essentials, olive oil is "more healthy" than regular oil.

Actually good for your health, I believe.

When cooking with fats, olive oil is a healthy choice. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fat, which can lower your risk of heart disease by reducing the total and low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or "bad") cholesterol levels in your blood.
