    x = number of good seats sold

    y = number of bad seats sold

    5 dollars for one good seat means 5x dollars for x

    good seats

    2 dollars for one bad seat means 2y dollars for y

    bad seats

    =>

    x + y = 210

    5x + 2y = 660

    <=>

    x + y = 210

    5x + 2 * (210 - x) = 660

    <=>

    x + y = 210

    5x - 2x + 420 = 660

    <=>

    x + y = 210

    3x = 240

    <=>

    x + y = 210

    x = 80

    <=>

    x = 80

    and

    y = 210 - 80 = 130

    Answer :

    80 good seats

    and

    130 bad seats

    x = 2 dollar tickets

    y = 5 dollar tickets

    x + y = 210

    2x + 5y = 660

    y = 210 -x (solving first equation for y)

    2x + 5(210 - x) = 660 (substituting in for y)

    2x + 1050 - 5x = 660 (distributive property)

    -3x + 1050 = 660 (combinign like terms)

    -3x = -390 (subtracting 1050 from both sides)

    x = 130 (dividing both sides by -3)

    Now substitute into the original equation..

    130 + y = 210

    y = 80 (subtracting 130 from both sides)

    They sold 80 good seats.

    Use what you know and break everything down.

    5 dollar seats and 2 dollar seats.

    210 people

    $660 total.

    Use x and y's and create 2 equations.

    5x+2y=660

    x+y=210

    3x=240

    x=80

    y=130

    and now answer the final question.

    let x = the good seats ($5)

    let y = bad seats ($2)

    formulas:

    x+y = 210

    5x + 2y = 660

    use substitution to solve for x and y.
