Why have Atheists started trying to convert people?

I like example B. How about it? Why get all upset if someone steals your stuff? It will all get made up in eternity. It is ETERNITY man!!!! why get all ruffled in this life! Better yet, just give me your stuff.

I don't think they know what being an atheist really means, often the reason for being an atheist is because they were christian at some time. It peeves me when they keep quoting scripture instead of giving sensible answers, they are just being lazy with their cutting and pasting and not really answering the questions. It is hypocritical if they complain that atheists are converting christians. I don't give a damn about what christians believe and I am not a on a crusade to convert anybody to atheism. That is just plain daft. I have no intentions of converting anybody to anything. Christians are behaving like frightened animals lashing out at atheists without good reason. They seem afraid and I don't understand why.

It is better to obey God rather than man, so we're going to have to continue to preach the Gospel. You might be interested to know though that the day will come, if those who continually reject Him continue to do so, that He will remove your opportunity to hear the good news, and you'll no longer hear it. From where you stand right now, you may be thinking that THAT is good news. But trust me, the day the Lord stops knocking on the door of your heart is a sad day. One that I don't wish upon anyone, but the Lord says that day will come, that He will not strive with man forever. I hope you'll open the door the next time He knocks, as the next time could be the last time. Only God knows for sure when the last knock on the door of your heart will be.

I really dont think they are trying to convert so much,as they will try to tell you how wrong you are. Which I also see out of a lot of religions as well.

The only real difference is reality supported by hard, objective evidence.

I don't really care if people convert or not, however, I do care about justifying bigotry in the name of religion, teaching children to be willfully ignorant and stunting their cognitive development, and legislating religious "morality" (if you can call it that).

Religion has detrimentally effected our societies and culture for thousands of years, it is about time that we start treating it with the respect that it is due - none.

Hey man, its a never ending argument, Atheist is no different from other 6,000 religions out there, so why only focus on Atheists? If you are right then other 5,999 religions are wrong, you get what I am saying?

I don't know why maybe they think its payback time? I don't come at them not even with a ten foot pole so I expect the same from them.

Personally, I would just love to see a world where policies were based on rational and logical reasons rather than religious beliefs. From the middle east to congress, religion drives so many who are key players in the shape of the world. I find this distressing and terrifying that powerful people base their decisions on ancient texts and the supernatural.

Every person who gives up their crazy belief in religion is one more who will base their decisions on the real world, on logic, and on reason, and that is a damn good thing.

i have never tried to convert anyone. i answer the question why i am an atheist, and give my point of view. take it as you will.
