no no girls just want an outside perspective.. like they dont want to hear from there friends or family cuz they might not be telling the truth,, but u are right girls shouldnt judge themselves on wat other people think~!

Well, because people hardly tell the truth anymore these days.

People never honestly know what people think of them.

If we could read minds, we would do that instead.

In the mean time, girls have to turn to the honest opinion of strangers.

YES, it's unhealthy, YES, it crushes esteem, but it does give a shred of an idea of what the general perspective others have of them.

yeah but everyone judges you on what you look like so here you can ask people who will kiss your butt which makes you feel better or they tell you how you can look better. of course all girls have uncertainty - we are all expected to look so hot and it's so hard. also everyone always judges you on appearance so it's way important and you feel so much better about yourself if you know that u look good to other people. i know that sounds really shallow and that we should all jsut be happy with what we are given but seriously, today everyone judges everyone within a second of meeting them so it's important to look good. i wish this weren't the case but it is.

Possibly to build up self-esteem.

Any way, rarely do the attractive ones post their pictures. At least from the pictures I've seen it. Mostly the average/in between girls. Same for guys.

All these girls insist that they arent insecure, but just by posting the question and stating that they arent insecure, proves that they are! Because teen girls are insecure and they think that strangers over the internet can give them some confidence. It's really, really stupid.

Sort of, girls like others opinion on how they look. And if they are really pretty it sort of boosts their already high self esteem.

we do this to look presentable. people will judge us if we don't present how we look that well. some won't come near a person just because she looks bad, like one having a bad hair day or wearing uncool clothes. even you would only go near persons who look good.

yeah thats true, but girls arent confident, so they want a strangers point of view rather than someone who loves them and knows them (like friends, family, boyfriends)
