Does anyone else see religion as addictive behavior?

The parallels are so obvious,AA and NA use a 'higher power' to replace drugs and alcohol...

Update:

and just try to take away their drug of choice...

Update 2:

is'nt addiction a mental illness?

Update 3:

irkt,I am not slamming a system that helps one recover from the destructive use of drugs, only comparing the irrational behavior of a religious fanatic to an active user or wet drunk

It is very addictive and a wonderful replacement for being drunk and brain-fried. I am so beautifully addicted to Jesus. I wake up wanting to get a fix right away. My first thoughts are about how 'high' He makes me feel. You know the best part of this 'addiction'? It lasts forever and only makes you better, healthier, happier, more peaceful, stronger in every area of your life. I readily admit, I cannot do without Him nor will I ever have to. It He)does not cost me anything, is not destructive in any way, only wants what is best for me. All that is asked of me is to live a life of love and faith in Him. What does this addiction lead to? Heaven.

NA uses "the therapeutic value of one addict helping another" as a means to alter a destructive pattern of obsessive behavior.

If you want to focus on the one part you disagree with, fine. But remember this too, "we are a spiritual, not religious program".

absolutely everyone who feels the ought to push their faith on somebody else. gain this using fact they have a ought to validate what they have self assurance. different clever why would they experience the ought to ? maximum think of they gets extra factors in heaven for forcing themselves on others. I easily have additionally observed that people who try this look to have the main difficulty with the rest persons having the excellent to no longer chosen their concept gadget.in basic terms attempt to tell them you do not have self assurance of their god you will see how briskly they're to choose or trojan horse the crap out of you .that's a useful sign of religion no longer spirituality.in basic terms experience undesirable for them they're turning extra people off, then rounding them up for brainwashing.I easily have used such extremely some clever comments in my time .yet now I in basic terms enable them to chat on a similar time as i'm walking away.

Yes, definitely. It's something that makes people temporarily happy at the cost of their capacity for rational thought. Sounds like a lot of hallucinogenic drugs, doesn't it?

I am addicted to the word of God, for example these verses; 1cor.14:34-35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
