Engineering is a different curriculum right from the beginning. It is a study of the use of the chemistry nd how to do it as opposed to just the atomic chemistry. In the chem engineering curriculum they study industrial processes and manufacturing uses of chem. The pay is greater for the engineering. The study in a chem major is more theoretical. The master's is a very specific study, where one chooses a topic to research. Industry would rather hire someone who knows how to run the equipment and how the manufacturing process works and how it is effected by various factors.
