what is more important: truth about torture or letting Obama nominees go forward?
if the president releases more Bush torture memos, Republicans are promising to "go nuclear" and filibuster his legal appointments.
if true then what should Obama do in this case?
should we allow bunch of fascists take USA towards Fascism?
shouldn't this be an standard ethical procedure; not to accept anyone bribe USA and step on our constitution ?

Truth is always of paramount importance. Truth is above politics.
If Obama promotes Truth in all its forms, the People as a whole will support him and will penalize those politicos who oppose him for exposing the Truth.
It is high time that the government lying and obfuscation was terminated. How else will the People ever be able to trust in their government once again? If not, then we can expect nothing but more of the same corruption that will be perpetuated from administration to administration in the future.
We need real change and we need it now!

The rules of the Senate allow Democrats to need only 50 votes to pass legislation. This procedure was followed by the Republicans many times, because "they wanted to do as the President wanted." They sure did. They got us into two wars, ruined the economy, and allowed these psychos at the top level to instigate torture, ignoring the Constitution.
By going to the 50-vote rule, the Republicans and their hissy fits would be rendered helpless. They are out to ruin Obama anyway and it is time he put an end to their nonsense.
Of course transparency is needed in the torture memos. Obama promised this during his Campaign and it is a promise he should keep. The use of torture, secret flights, Black prisons and rendition is no surprise to most of us. We have known about it, sans a few details, but were helpless to stop it.
I am sickened by lawyers who skirt Constitutional law to make torture legal, doctors who purposely ignore their Oath to monitor heinous torture, and leaders who delighted in breaking our laws and bringing our country down to the status of a rogue nation.
I think a Special Prosecutor should be appointed to handle all of this and those who indulged in this practice should, if found to have broken our laws, brought to justice. We are, as Bush has said so many times, a "nation of laws"

The foundation of our country is founded by the observance of good laws and the justice will not be denied. If the Obama administration continues to buckle under the republican assault we will forfeit more of the strength of our constitution. It is imperative that justice prevails and torture investigated along with the other war crimes at the same time. Torture was not legal at the time and we can't be fooled by those that make it out to be so.
In Japan, during the Second World War, water boarding was considered legal. However, the Japan Tribunal found water boarding to be a hangable offence. The precedent still stands.

The truth is more important but I don't believe for a moment that the reason they are not going forward with this is because of a few republicans.
It all boils down to opening a can of worms that leads straight the top. I don't think Obama wants to be the man who went forward to put away a past American president for war crimes.
It should happen but its not going to.
If they let these men go free then they should just empty the prisons and we could start from scratch. I just don't see how any other crime is worse then war crimes.
If war crimes are forgiven then all crimes should be forgiven.

I saw Dick Army justify keeping the torture memos hidden. This is odd, since torture is a felony and war crime, and one would think if you are the party of law, law enforcement and harsh prison terms for people who break the law, that the Republicans would argue to make this stuff public and begin the trial. For example, the Republicans made public Clinton's testimony when Lewinsky was made to talk about their sexual practices with cigars, an what positions they frequented.

As the republicans have said in the past, if you have nothing to fear don't be afraid. Let those documents be shown to the world, after all the republicans did nothing wrong, according to D. Cheney!

Who listens to Republicans?

What the hell are you talking about? The Republicans have had their balls cut off dear. Because the majority of people know the Republicans are wrong. Deal with it.
