I saw my therapist for 6 years, she is retired now...i want a copy of the notes she took?

I was with the same therapist for 6 years, she decided to retire to be a stay at home mom. I really would like to know if i can get a copy of the notes she took just so I can look at them. Im curious as to what she wrote, especially after 6 years. Do you think i can get a copy? Im from Cali. I tried looking online and have not found much...i found like physical therapy but this is more for Psychiatric stuff....

Update:

im not sure how to respond when people answer my question either im new to this...

but she is already retired and i have no way of contacting her...i just assumed the office has my records in case i decided to go back?

Your records should remain on file for 7 years, and most therapists hold them for 10 years. You have a right to see your records. Call the office and request them.

My psychiatrist sent me a copy of her notes, I don't see why yours wouldn't do the same thing. It wouldn't hurt to ask.
