She's looking to BE a piercer?? There are schools for it...but they arent everywhere...I live in Tx and I would have to go to New Mexico, I believe for the closest school to me...but most piercers just apprentice under another piercer for about 3-6 mos.

    Good luck

ps just some info to know... most piercers only get paid commission...so if you think about it, one day you can work, and no one comes in at all....you worked all day for nothing...or even if one person came in...and the piercing was $60...you get 80% (shops vary) thats still only like what $48/day?....but you could have a really good day and only 3 piercings later you make almost $150...but I know someone that will sit at work for 10 hrs and not make anything some days.

Apprentice under an experienced piercer. Its hard to get into, and honestly a horrible job. Think of all the unwashed genitals....

Make friends with your local piercer, and show you're interested.

First Aid course will never go amiss either.

There are schools and course, but they are nearly all a pile or rubbish and very overpriced. Theres not much you can learn in a month or two. Most apprenticeships are a year at the very least.
