Did Miss California get a raw deal last night?
The question concerning gay marriage should have been asked to both contestants. Miss North Carolina gets a "Stimulus Money" question that anyone could have answered. This is totally ridiculous. Had Miss California agreed with the gays, she would be the reigning Miss USA. I have a lot of respect for her, and I am not a republican.

She didn't answer the question. She was NOT asked if she agreed with gay marriage. She was asked if she thought other states should follow suit with the 4 states that have currently legalized gay marriage. She spouted off her anti gay marriage stance, and that's why she lost. She offended many people, and Miss USA is supposed to UNITE the people, not OFFEND and DIVIDE.
She knew damn well that Perez Hilton is gay...so why would she risk the crown by telling him that she doesn't agree with gay marriage? Dumb! It's like telling a woman that she believes a woman's place is in the kitchen and bedroom! what did she expect?

The Video show Obama gave same answer Miss California did.
Gay like Perez people show watch Mr. Universe not Miss USA or Miss Universe show.

A big deal is being made out of her opinions -- but that's exactly it. The question was not asking directly whether or not she personally agreed with same-sex marriage. It's true that this question was asking for a controversial answer either way -- but, she avoided the actual question completely --- should the other American states follow suit in legalizing same sex marriage? She definitely could have answered the question much more eloquently. Like come on, "opposite marriage"??!

ya that was bs. I have no problem with gays but i agree with miss cali marriage should be defined as a union btwn man and women. Its stupid that she lost the crown because she didn't say yes i believe gays should get married. With a gay guy as a judge a gay question should be off limits cuz either u say wat miss cali did and get points taken away by him or u agree and ur all good. Gays need to stop whinning every time they don't get what they want. I think it is a lot like the civil rights movement. Gays want to change something that has long since stood as it is now but they whine everytime they don't get what they want. The same was with the civil rights movement they were trying to get rights when they had been deprived of them for hundreds of years but they worked hard and sacrificed like rosa parks going to jail. you didn't see her whine. Through the hard work they eventually changed society to make it a better place and an equal place. If gays want marriage maybe they should try working hard and being committed and not cry when one thing doesn't go thier way.

Believe it or not, the real winner in the Miss Universe pageant last night was actually Donald Trump. I'm sure the outcome of this particular pageantry boosted the shows future ratings as well as add drama and interest about the Miss Universe/ Miss USA pageant.
As for Miss California i was speechless during her answer. I think many people know they type of man Perez Hilton is and so they new of course his question was going to be something of the sort he asked. But I did not expect her to answer the way she did. She had guts and more balls than I know of anyone really. To give your opinion on National TV and know that you will be critized later for it and even loose the chance of winning, I think she had balls. I thought she was another 'typical' contestant, but boy did she prove me wrong. She answered the question honestly and didn't give the formulaic response other contestants give.
She demonstatred what freedom of speech was as an American, and clearly to me was the ideal Miss USA last night.

She was set up. He probably was planning this awhile, or even was approached by gay rights activists who noticed a golden opportunity. She is attending a Christian College and this was published beforehand, since the Miss USA pageant is a scholarship program. He may have gamed his scoring in the early rounds just so she would end up one of the question-takers. Perez is a gay Californian and wanted a platform for his own outrage over the outcome of Prop 8 gay marriage vote. So, he set up the beauty pageant contestant It was like shooting fish in a barrel.
I am sure even the hissy fit was orchestrated for maximal coverage of his "issue" including the "retraction". The story wrote itself.
Obviously fairness would dictate that questions be randomized, not tailored. And the legalistic argument that she did not answer the states rights questions? This was a beauty contest, not a presidential debate.

Yes she did she was exercising her right of Freedom of speech, where as that man (and I use the term man very loosely) insulted her by calling her a dumb-b*itch! the controversy should be around the fact that he called a women with a view that, not the other way around!
One good thing about it is it shows some Californians still have morals and that they are not all the liberal nut-jobs the media would like us to believe!
Go Miss California :)

She did get a raw deal. The "judge" was more interested in his agenda than voting for the best candidate. I really don't watch these contests, do they typically pick judges for celebrity value rather than based on how good of a job they will do? If Perez really understood female beauty, he'd be straight, so maybe most of the blame should go to whoever decided to make him a judge.

She is right in giving her honest opinion. I respect that. I don't understand how gay people now became a sensitive issue that other have to be politically correct and pretend that they are happy about gay marriages. Gay people won their right to get married, so why not just enjoy this right and not critisize other people's opinion. We can carry guns, but I don't like guns. Should I also pretend that I love them just to be politically correct?

If her answer was the reason she didn't get the crown then yes, she got a raw deal. She should be applauded for her honesty and the fact she was brave enough to not tell them what they wanted to hear, but her honest opinion. I happen to agree with her and if the gays don't like it then too bad.

I think that she should have answered the question better. First of all the question was pretty easy if you want to win! And she could have had some consideration for gay people. I'm not gay and nobody in my family is. We all married someone from the opposite sex...but we don't care how other people get married. And we understand that not everyone thinks like us!
I think that she should at least have mentioned the gay people and given an answer directed to them and maybe sugarcoated it a little instead of just me and my family.
Watch this!!
