what does the "sq" mean in this address? 678 mount Roy sq?

is it an address for a business or a home?

    I am positive that it means square. So, that would mean of course Mount Roy Square. There are many places that are called this but I do know that the abbreviation is not common. However, a popular place with the same name is "Times Square". I'm sure you've heard of it. Hope I helped! :)

    I assume it's either kind of address, since both businesses and homes have them.

    Still, I think 'sq' means, here, "Square."

    That is also assuming the address is all in capital letters = 678 Mount Roy Square.

    It stands for "square," so the full address is 678 Mount Roy Square. You would not be able to determine whether it is a residence or a business merely by looking at the address.

    Sq stands for Square (instead of, for example, Avenue). You can't tell if it's a business or a home from this info.
