For those of the Christian faith, I'm asking again. How can Jesus and God be the same person?

Mark 10:18

"And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God."

Notice he says, I am not good. But God (his father) is.

John 14:28

"Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I."

"my Father is greater than I." There are two different beings in this statement.

Luke 23:34

"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."

At this point, he is not talking to himself.

If that doesn't convince you, then John 3:16 has to.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

He didn't send himself. He sent his Son.

The answers I'm reading from most people make no sense whatsoever.

Jesus and God can't be the same person, and once more they never claimed to be. The word trinity does not appear in the Bible.

Impossible: Christians say that: "The Father(F) is God, the Son(S) is God, and the Holy Ghost(H) is God, but the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Ghost, and the Holy Ghost is not the Father". In simple arithmetic and terms therefore, if F = G, S = G, and H = G, then it follows that F = S = H, while the second part of the statement suggests that F ¹ S ¹ H (meaning, "not equal"). Isn’t that a contradiction to the Christian dogma of Trinity in itself ?

If God is one and three simultaneously, then none of the three could be the complete God. Granting that such was the case, then when Jesus was on earth, he wasn’t a complete God, nor was the "father in Heaven" a whole God. Doesn’t that contradict what Jesus always said about His God and our God in heaven, his Lord and our Lord ? Does that also mean that there was no complete god then, between the claimed crucifixion and the claimed resurrection?

If belief in the Trinity was such a necessary condition for being a Christian, why didn’t Jesus teach and emphasize it to the Christians during his time? How were those followers of Jesus considered Christians without ever hearing the term Trinity? Had the Trinity been the spinal cord of Christianity, Jesus would have emphasized it on many occasions and would have taught and explained it in detail to the people.

They cannot because they are not. Those who pay attention to the most direct statements in the Bible concerning the natures and identities of both God and Jesus can clearly understand that they are not one in the same person nor God, neither are they co- equal. The trinity is a doctrine found only by reading into certain scriptures more than what it is actually saying, by taking certain scriptures or statements out of context, or by changing the definitions of certain Greek words used in the Bible in certain places.

God- given common sense also plays a part in helping us realize that something as important as the identity and nature of God would not have been shrouded in obscurity nor accidentally omitted in the pages of the Bible. Since no statement exists in the entire volume of the Bible, it is logical and reasonable to conclude that Jesus is not God and that there is no trinity.

The trinity is a popular belief, no doubt about it. Nevertheless, winning a popularity contest doesn't make something true.

    Don't forget

    Philippians 2:5&6 (King James Version)

2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God

    or

    1 Corinthians 11:3

3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Also the New Catholic Encyclopedia will tell you that the idea of the trinity is not found in the Bible.

The holy trinity answers this question but for those sometimes it can be a bit confusing. You are right that God sent his only son Our Savior Jesus Christ to this Earth. Jesus is an extension of god, they are of the same entity. The father, the son, and the holy ghost are what make up the trinity. If you have in depth question about this matter try talking to a pastor/priest or fellowship leader. Hope this helps some.

This is one of the most misunderstood of all Christian doctrines. First of all, in Mark 10:18 Jesus is pointing out to the man what he is insinuating by calling him good. In John 8:29 Jesus says, "The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him." If He always does what pleases God, that he must be perfect by God's standard.

In regard to the Trinity: God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all explicitly called "God" in scripture. John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The Bible doesn't dodge the issue. Jesus said in John 10:30, "I and the Father are one."

The Trinity is defined as one God made up of three persons. You require three things to be a person: intellect, emotion, and will. Thus God can best be understood, I believe, as having one central "essence" or nature that expresses itself in three sets of intellect, emotion, and will. I hope that sheds a little light on your question.

They cannot be the same person. And anybody who actually studies the Word of God with an open mind will know that.

But why am I bothering to respond to this question? You are preaching, and they are not listening (except maybe Rose_Park and E_F, and maybe a couple of others).

Trinitarians are brainwashed into not reading the true Word of God. They automatically change the meaning in their minds as they read. They've been taught to do so, and they cannot think on their own.

Jesus never claimed to be God. He is not an extension of God. He is a human man, to whom God gave all power in heaven and earth, after he was resurrected into the only begotten Son of God, in glory.

    Romans 1:4.

No Scripture mentions any certain number of persons in the Godhead.

Trinity is not a true doctrine. Jesus was not God, therefore he was no second person of God. second person is not in Scripture, neither is first person, or third person. So out goes the trinity.

The only reason Thomas called Jesus my Lord and My God, is he received the revelation, that after the resurrection, God had now set Jesus up to be God and to rule on the throne of God. Heb. one and Rev. five.

God told us to worship Jesus as our God. therefore, MY Lord and MY God. But the Father is the God of Jesus. God is a full kingdom, made up of innumerable members, same as the human kingdom.

Jesus is a human, now glorified and given the status of being our God. He is the mediator between men and God. But he is still a man. This truth fits all scripture, not just one or two. Jesus is God's son. But not by human birth. Mary did not give birth to that son of God. Jesus did. Jesus became the Son of God, through spiritual birth. Exactly as we must do. No difference. Only difference is we will never be given the place which God gave to Jesus.

The Godhead is made up of one God manifest or revealed in three distinct persons, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and these three are one in unity. 1st John 5:7 You are made in the image of God and after his likeness, Body, Soul, Spirit, but one person[Evolution a Lie !!!] If you could figure out the Godhead any better than that, then he would not be God and you would do like the mormons [Cult] bring God down to man's level[A Lie] God has no beginning nor ending, he is infinite[without limits] just like the cosmos he created, man is finite, with limits. Hope this helps; you are welcome to e-mail me for more info if you like.Man can never attain being a god himself, no matter who or what faith teacher teaches it; that is also a lie out of hell; Jesus became man so he could die in the flesh for our sins, read John 17[his prayer on the cross carefully and prayerfully; he was one with the father. He gave his life and he rose from the dead the third day and sits on the right hand of God in heaven interceding for the saints. Psalm 110 The lord said unto my lord; sit thou on my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Jesus was God's word manifest into human flesh[logos] the word became flesh and dwelt among us. John 1:1 each time Jesus said he was "I AM" it angered the false religious leaders od his time, he was saying he was GOD!!!

Jesus was a tangible extention of God, like us, only infused with direct contact to the Almighty, proper term, divine. When he speaks of how his father is greater, he means that he, as a small part of the Lord, cannot compare to the glory of his being as a whole. A son is an extention of yourself.
