What type of Beer should I try?
I wanted to know what type of beer is good to drink. I usually drink mixed cocktails but sometimes when I go to a cookout all they have is beer and I want one but don't know if it would suit my tastes. Any ideas for brand or types I should try?

Since you prefer cocktails you may find many beers taste overwhelmingly of hops and "camel-spit" at first. For this reason I suggest starting off with Lite Beers, you'll find that they are more mellow and easier for an "amateur" to appreciate. Eventually make it a point to try flavored beers, they are full bodied with additional fruit flavors, their heavier tastes can help acclimate your taste buds to more "beerie-beers." May I suggest you try these:
Micholob Ultra
Amstel Light
Heineken Light
Becks Premier Light
Sam Adam's Light
Red Stripe
Sam Adam's Seasonal Beers (all of them)
Purple Haze
Wicked Petes Strawberry Blond Ale
Sweetwater Blue
Its an experiment for your taste buds, have fun with it!

There are so many different kinds of beer. Try a light beer first if you don't usually drink beer. Try a fruity flavored beer. The darker the beer the more bold the flavor.

I am a big fan of blue moon. Its a citrusy beer which comes with an orange slice you squeeze into the beer. its a little more expensive than a bud light or something but its completely worth the extra $.

Hoegaarden, Blue Moon are good beers to try for beginners.
Woodchuck Cider, Snirnoff Ice, Mike's Hard Lemonade are bottled drinks but they are not beers.
Next try any mainstream American light beer (Miller, Bud, Coors), they are basically just watered down American beer but easier to drink if you aren't used to beer.

If you ever happen to go to Texas you have to try Ziegenbock! You would have to go to a liquor store to get it though. It's "made in by texans for texans." It's a dark beer. You should also go to independent restaurants that make their own beer. Those are also fun.

shocktop.
it's a belgian wheat beer with citrus flavors.
but if you like a beer with barely any taste try michelob ultra
bud light lime is good too if you're not a big fan of beer.

if your gonna drink beer, drink good beer. Stay away from bud and miller, go with sam adams, or something like Bell's Oberon if its availible in your area
