2. In each house lives a person of different nationality
3. These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke different brand of cigar and keep a different pet.
THE QUESTION: WHO OWNS THE FISH?
HINTS
1. The Brit lives in a red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The Green house is next to, and on the left of the White house.
5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the centre house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

ALBERT EINSTEIN WROTE THIS RIDDLE EARLY DURING THE 19th CENTURY. HE SAID THAT 98% OF THE WORLD POPULATION WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SOLVE IT.

House 1

Nationality: Norwegian

The coffee-drinking, Prince-smoking, German who lives in the green house owns the fish. Assuming, of course, that the final pet would indeed be a fish.
The trick is to make a table but what is truly essential is the process of elimination. As the conditions state what are, be sure to eliminate those options from the other houses. Once the number of options diminish to just a single option, the answer would be whatever option is left.
Solving that riddle is what I'd imagine solving a verbal Sudoku puzzle would feel like!

reason:
Norwegian: Dunhill, Yellow house, Water, Cats.
Dane: Blends, Blue house, Tea, Horses
Brit: Pall Mall, Red house, Milk, Birds
after that, since the swede owns the dog, the German must own the fish.

It took me a long time and I had to write it down but I hope that won't count as cheating =)
I deduce that the Germans own the fish but it was just hit and trial and some reasoning.
Norwegian: yellow, water, dunhill, cats
Danish: Blue, Tea, Blend, Horses
British: Red, Milk, Pallmall, Birds
German: Green, Coffee, Prince, FISH
Swedish: White, Beer, Bluemaster, Dog

Hey you should have written something like "no cheating" coz one of your answerers have easily got this answer from "Google...."
But here goes my answer [which I did it myself, not with the help google] :
It took me about 1/2 an hour and since I'm one of the last ones to answer don't think I cheated from the other's answers...>_<
Houses in order of their arrangement ....
1) Yellow House:Norwegian, Cat, Water and Dunhill
2) Blue House:Danish, Horse, Tea, Blends
3) Red House: British, Birds, Milk, Pall Mall

i only found out that
1. the Norwegian owns de yellow house n smokes Dunhill
2. the 2. house is blue n de owner keep horses as pets
3. the 3. is red n de Brit is de owner n he drinks milk
4. the 4th hose is green
5. is white which de owner drinks coffe
One needs some mathemathical methods be4 he/she can solve it.
