What are the consequences of not paying this ticket?

I received a parking ticket from a private institution. It's a college campus, and the ticket is in no way affiliated with the city, county, police, or DMV. I'm wondering what repercussions will follow from not paying this ticket. What options do they have to enforce the paying of this ticket? Can they forward the information to the DMV? Would the DMV even care if the ticket was given on a private lot, since they won't be receiving any of the funds?

Update:

The reason I ask here is because I have taken these matters up with the authority that issued them before, and they have been uncooperative. They have no intermediary to decide if the parking tickets are justified or not. The person who decides if a ticket was given unjustly is the same guy who collects the money if he says it was given in all fairness. In my own experience and those of the people I've spoken to, they never throw out tickets under any circumstances, because they need the money. This is hardly a fair system, and that's why I ask here, what would be the possible consequences for not paying a ticket issued by a private institution not affiliated with the state legal system in any way?

Sometimes it's nothing, and sometimes the police dept will set a bench warrant out for your arrest. I'd suggest just paying the ticket or discussing the situation with the police dept to see if you can get the ticket voided.

To answer this question honestly I would take the ticket to the authorities that issued it and dispute it with them. At least by doing this you will know your options if you decide not to pay.
