Alberta, Canada, Are there bylaws regarding trimming a neighbour's tree?

How do I find out who is responsible for trimming a neighbour's tree or if there are bylaws regarding who trims it and who disposes of the trimmings?

Here in the US, if a neighbor's tree is overhanging your property, you can cut whatever is crossing over into your property. You CANNOT reach over into the neighbor's yard to further cut the tree back. When you cut branches, you are responsible for cleaning them up.

Call your local City Hall and ask for Bylaw Enforcement. Ask them that question, and they'll be able to tell you what the legality of the issue is.
