opinions on my soup please?
i'm making vegetable beef soup in my crock pot and i want to add bowtie pasta - when should i add this and will it soak up too much of my juice?

You can add it during the last hour of cooking. Make sure you have additional broth available just in case you have the absorption problem. Alternately, you can pre-cook the pasta in a separate pot and add it; this will prevent over-absorption of the the broth.

Personally I would cook the pasta al dente, drain it and reserve it in a bowl, add a tablespoon of olive oil to the pasta after draining out the water. Then add it to each soup bowl as you serve the soup. It will not soak up the juice and become soggy this way..

Cook the pasta and put in the amount you want when your soup is done. That way you wont have to worry about too much pasta or your broth being soaked up. This method also keeps your soup from clouding up due to the pasta cooking in it.
