Hi, my laptop with vista O.S. its hard drive contains 1 partition can i make 2 partitions without refromat?

my laptop contains a genuine vista OS and i want to divide the hard drive into 2 partitions instead of single partition without the need for formatting my laptop and reinstalling windows.

    Yes,

    I've done this windows XP and I'm pretty sure that is will work for Vista. Insert the Vista Disc and create a new partition using the disk.

    First, you need this:

    Then you run it and let it create a bootable floppy or cd if you are familiar with burning an iso.

    Then, you boot (may need to change boot order in bios setup to floppy,cd,hd) to the cd or floppy and click cancel, then partition tools, then get over top of the 1 partition and click resize, give it a size you like, wait until that's done, get over top of the new free space and click create partition. Then reboot to windows and let it figure out things have changed, it'll ask you to reboot, do that, and then format the new partition (it'll ask you when you click on it in my computer)

    PS: The free trial has no limitation on the partition tools and it runs forever.
