My grandmother loves On Golden Pond. Others might include The Bridge Over the River Kwai, The Great Escape, The Thomas Crowne Affair (the original with Steve McQueen), almost anything with John Wayne. You might also consider some of the old musicals like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers or Fiddler on the Roof.

I run a senior housing community and every Thursday afternoon we show movies on a 52 in. tv in the community room. i have been doing this for over a year and am running out of ideas of movies to show them. using a net flix account. They seem to enjoy older movies,westerns, country music atc. Any...

Musicals usually do the trick. Musicals like the Rogers and Hammerstein ones, The Sound of Music, West Side Story, Grease, etc, Chicago. Most Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn films will do as well. I would try showing Funny Face, with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. Try the older James Bond films too.
