Is Lasic surgery a good idea for a woman age 51?

How long do the side effects last (dryness, sensitivity to light)?

age in & of itself is not a contraindication. however:

more likely to have dryness, both more severe and longer-lasting. possibly permanent

lasik will not remove you from ALL glasses wear at age 51. ...even monovision lasik. you will likely still need glasses of some kind (usually reading glasses) in order to see everything at every distance.
