How about a poem, about little league baseball?

Little League

Hey battah battah

Watcha gonna say

they play

baseball

every Saturday

Hey battah battah

Someone’s at bat

the pitcher eyes

the catcher

wearing backwards hat

Hey battah battah

Lets watch and wait

batter at home plate

bangs bat, swings at

dreams that: too late

Hey battah battah hey battah battah

Better not bluff

Swing, fling, dings

edge of the ball,

not at all enough

Steerike two batter batter

Pitcher looks at her

nods once, nods again

I’m gonna send

There it goes, watch it. BAM!

    But who's on first?

I like this - kinda gets to that crescendo - the strikes the parents booing and hissing (we have mean little league here) and then the kid finally hits! And then misses first base. Haha.

    Light, Joyful, fun read!

It says that a poet may write on any subject, and be involved in any event, especially those linked to parent-child relationship.

Some (including myself) 'd say it's a song, or sounds more like it. For me, I've always thought that a song is a poem that can be sung-- like this piece.

I am eminently qualified to comment since I spent 7 years behind the plate receiving and often chasing the pitcher's offerings! My refrain would be: Hey battah battah, how'll you going to duck!

    Source(s): A fun read.

Liked it - how you held off the "her" - until the last stanza. Yeah - for the little ladies ♥

Girls play baseball, not just softball, glad you showed that with the batter, her.
