My 5 year old granddaughter has been running a low grade fever for several day"s?

My daughter insists that it is because she is cutting her permanent

teeth. I think she has an infection in her body and needs to go to the doctor. What do I do?

If she's been running a fever for a few days, it's time to check in w/the pediatrician. It's probably a virus, but the doctor should probably rule out strep throat, which can be easily treated w/antibiotics. A fever almost always accompanies strep throat, even though a sore throat is not always present. (In the case of my own children, every time they have had strep throat, they have not had a red or sore throat). The one constant for us at least, was that my kids ran a fever for a few days. A strep test is an easy test, and one that you should insist on, just to be sure.

Take the child to the doctor yourself.
