How can Republicans claim President Obama is a "fascist"?

Yet they didn't say anything when President Bush allowed the NSA to spy on American citizens without a warrant, hold prisoners indefinitely without a trial date, hold prisoners in secret black prisons around the world, used to torture to retrieve information from prisoners, created free speech zones for protesters, used thousands of signing statements that effectively change or ignore the laws that congress passed, created Orwellian policies like the "Patriot act" which was not so patriotic at all since it ignored the 4th amendment.

On top of that...they created a whole culture in the Conservative mindset that ignores the media and even attacks it if they report negatively on the war or the Bush administration itself, they attack civil liberty groups like the ACLU which is only looking to protect our rights according to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, they attack educators like professors, they attack women's rights groups, gay rights group, immigration groups and create scapegoats out of them, they create hyper nationalism and wrap themselves in the flag when pushing their policies and agenda.

And so...even after all this crap went on for the last 8 years...they have the nerve to take a popular President like Obama and call him a fascist....for what? Because he's brown? Because he has a Muslim name? Because the public loves him?

Neo-Marxists follow much of classic Marxist philosophy, particularly a hatred for industrial capitalism. Unlike classic Marxists, they don't hold to violent revolution and they permit some private property ownership, mainly their own. Like their mentors they are inclined to want most, or all, industry controlled or owned by the government.

Sound familiar? The fascism will come when Obama realizes that the majority of the citizens want to stop his dangerous ideologies. I'm a Democrat by the way.

Wow, awful lot of points to address here. Ok. The term Fascist is used because what Fascism is, is a kind of "State-ism" which elevates the power of the Federal Government beyond the power of the people. It also is a form of tyranny where the leader imposes his will without regard for any minority. A good example is Obama seeking to use a tactic in the Senate called "reconciliation" to pass his massive Health Care take over. Normally, this would and should require 60 votes in the Senate. By making an unprecedented move of using reconciliation on something this important, he will only need 51 votes, thus eliminating any of the influence the Minority party may have since this eliminates the possibility of a filibuster.

The Patriot Act was first passed with strong bi-partisan support by the Congress before Bush signed it into law, but be advised, despite the fact that both houses of Congress and the White House are in Democrat hands, the Patriot Act is still in effect. So, I guess despite all the rhetoric to the contrary, I was necessary after all.

The Republicans did not create any "Conservative mind set". The Conservative mind set exists (the same as the Liberal mind set) beyond any political party. In fact, the Republican Party has been far too moderate or even Liberal in many respects to suit we Conservatives. Bush and the Republicans were far too Liberal with spending, with new entitlement programs, in border control and even in seeking amnesty for illegal aliens. The Conservative movement is what stopped the Republicans.

Questionable is also your reference to the ACLU as protecting "our" rights. They are very selective in whose rights they protect. The focus of the ACLU is far more on the rights of the criminals than on the rights of the victims.

Conservatives, not Republicans engage College Professors who are admitted Socialists. We respond to groups like NOW which pretend to speak for all women when they clearly do not and in fact never spoke up against Bill Clinton when he took advantage of a young, female intern.

Gay rights groups are not being "attacked" they are being opposed. It is they who seek to dismantle institutions and traditions that have served this country and society well for hundreds of years. We also, do not attack immigrant groups we oppose groups that are supporting Illegal Immigration. There is a major distinction. Every illegal immigrant takes the place of another legal immigrant that has been waiting in line for years if not decades. We oppose illegal immigration and support legal immigration. No scape goat needed.

Americans, unlike any other nation on the planet, have always "wrapped ourselves in the flag". It is that flag that represents our liberties. It is that flag that stands for everything that makes America superior to any other country on earth. It is not our wealth, our military prowess that makes us the best but our Constitution. You remember that don't you? That old yellow piece of parchment written by a bunch of old dead white guys?

We Conservatives, seek to push our agenda which is for a strict interpretation of the Constitution as written. The whole purpose of it is to limit the power of the Federal Government which brings us back to the start of this reply. So, you see, it all makes perfect logical sense when you have it in perspective and are not looking at it through the filter of a very Liberal press.

The "crap" that you say went on for the last 8 years was the prevention of additional terrorist attack, the ousting of an Iraqi dictator and the start of a self-determining democratic republic in Iraq. Economic strength for and unprecedented time. The problems with the last 8 years, such as mismanagement of the Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac were caused by both parties acting outside of America's interests and of excessive spending which has been dwarfed by the new Administration.

Whether Obama is brown, has a Muslim name or even how popular he is makes absolutely no difference to Conservatives. What matters to us is his Statist mind set, his Marxist influence, his attempts to take over the banking, industry, health care and eventually the energy production in America.

It is unconstitutional and fascist and must be opposed. I rise in opposition to an all powerful Central Government. Do you?

That is because they are trying to produce a smoke screen -- in desperation after losing the election. It is Bush and Cheney and friends who were the real Fascists-- bordering on being American Nazis. Go Obama! Go ACLU, the only protection the U.S. Constitution has. If these losers were not so dangerous, we could just sit back and laugh our collective arses off ... but we have to keep an eye on these weird bastards.... all 364 of them. That is the usual number who post here.

The "Patriot Act" is the same thing that Nazi Germany passed back in in the 30s -- against the "Enemies of the State". The only person to vote against this violation of the U.S. Constitution was Senator Feingold of Wisconsin. Obama cannot override congress on this issue and he knows it. It would be the same as beating a dead horse. He has other fish to fry, unfortunately. Tossing out the infamous Patriot Act will have to wait....

Well I am no longer a Republican and I left 2 elections ago for some of the reasons you mentioned like Orwellian policies. So basically many people did stand up and protest and even left the Republican party due to things like the Patriot Act. So my statement is basically what makes you think the Democrats are any better? Obama has kept those policies and has not gotten rid of the Patriot Act. So how about all of them are in it together including your beloved President Obama.

I don't have to, the fact he won irks them enough! It's so amusing how now the deficit is a big deal, yet not a one said one word while george bush was digging this hole! But Yes! Getting under their skin by rubbing in the fact bush was so inept and so ridiculously stupid he made it possible for Obama to win no matter how hard Palin and the GOP tried to destroy him. It's also amusing how many republicans believe the garbage spewed by the likes of rush the pill addict, orielly the adulterous falafel king and hannity the cartoon.

Because they label things with terms people hate, trying to create disassociation and dislike. The liberal democrates often do the same thing to republicans. I guess if you want to be more correct and less ignorant you could say "dictator"? Which is only slightly less stupid. It's truly uneducated ramblings of people who don't have a clue. I just read a book called "liberal fascism" well I tried, it's about the most idiotic title you can come up with. that's like saying "multicultural nationalists" it's soooo stupid.

Because his best buddy, George Soros, along with Al Gore, Bill Clinton and Tony Blair are all members of Club of Rome the fascist think tank of the increasingly fascist UN.

The UN have a stated agenda of reducing the human population to about 1 billion people, and what has Obama done about closing America's 800 plus, fully manned prison/concentration camps.

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in th wind.

They can claim he's a fascist for the same reason they can claim to be the party of small government and the party of moral values: They're pathological liars.

Dr. Dickman: Hussein does know he's dead. He was executed in 2006. Meanwhile, your President, Barack Obama, has a 66 percent approval rating. Sucker.

Get over it. I'm republican & I don't like Obama, but I couldn't care less what race or religion he is (he's not a Muslim by the way, do your homework). That's not what kept me from voting for him. I think he leans towards socialism quite a bit. People like you are the reason why the Dept. of Homeland Security labeled "right wing conservatives" and "Iraqi War Veterans" as terrorist threats just because WE don't have the same opinions as them. Neither trumps the other. Being anti-bush is no different than being anti-obama. Also, try to remember that he's been in office for like 2.5 months. He hasn't really gone through anything worthy of hurting his popularity.

If your gonna bring up bush than ill bring up any cold war president. Any president that was around during the venona project did the same exact thing. Spying on supposed Russian spies, many of whom were. Lincoln also had political prisoners, the confederates during the civil war. FDR had japanese internment camps.
