Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people. There are many things you can to do preventing getting and spreading influenza:

There are everyday actions people can take to stay healthy.

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.

Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.

If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

    Swine flu and irresponsible reporting

There are alarmists among us who start screaming “pandemic!” the minute they hear about a new virus strain. Consider them fringe elements.

And there are supposedly responsible journalists who, when reporting on a new virus strain, use the word pandemic as freely as epidemic or outbreak or widespead cases or isolated cases. I’ve come to think of them as fringe elements too. Unfortunately, these reporters represent the mainstream media, and every word they speak or write, no matter the topic, goes winging across the country and around the world. They are not the authorities, the experts, the be-all and end-all, the oracles, the bearers of truth. I often think most of us could do their jobs as well as they do.

Yes, certainly it is and should be of international concern. It has been detected in several countries and ongoing tests are expected to confirm more cases. This flu strain is spreading from human to human, and as long as humans are traveling between nations, all nations must be on the alert to help contain it.

GreasyTony answered "no" and cited my blog post at http://piedtype.com/2009/04/25/swine-flu-and-irres... I said reporters were being irresponsible and inaccurate in calling it a pandemic. It is nowhere near pandemic proportions yet and likely never will be if there is a coordinated, international effort to contain it.

Throughout world history nature had its population control, every 50-100 years some pandemic or epidemic plague would cut off human surplus population. But in last century medicine has eradicated most or all of these diseases, and that`s why world is over populated, especially some countries with primitive people like those in Mexico whose population is alarmingly growing, it would not bother me if this newest disease turns into plague and wipes out several millions of Mexicans, maybe that would get millions of the illegals in U.S. to go back to their country, and maybe if some crooked U.S. pro illegal immigration politicians also died from this disease, maybe then they would take more seriously about solving the illegal problem in U.S.and shut that border tight, for good of all Americans.

What i think of is atypical is that Napalitano blamed the shortcoming of obtainable vaccine on the fact that it became being produced interior the "inner maximum sector". as though to assert the government could have carried out a extra suitable activity or to eliminate the government's duty ( the previous Democrat blame-activity).

I heard on the news today that they can't figure out how it is spread if they can't figure that out then they can't stop it, it has the potential to be the next plague
