Is there a grass killer that will not harm my dog?

I have a German Shepherd and he lives in the back yard, I have been sick and not had the time or ability to keep up with the yard work in the back yard. The crab grass has taken over the patio and I was looking for an answer to my question. If there is a way to deal with this type of problem let me know, thanks!

To keep weeds to a minimum on our patio, we put salt in the spaces between the stones. We buy water softener salt in a 40 lb. bag and use a small cup to pour it into the spaces. This year, we put the salt down and then covered it with crushed limestone. Oh, and this does not bother our dogs at all.

Most grass killers will harm your dog. Look for one that is eco-friendly and specifically says something like "safe for kids and pets".
