Why is my elderly female neighbor so rude?

She's such a *****. I mean, she's like 98 and hasn't bothered to collect the newspapers from her front yard for like a week. And she didn't bother to put her bins out either. I went to her house and knocked on the door to tell her off, but she didn't answer. I know she is home, I can hear her television on. And all the other neighbors have said that no one has seen or heard from her for ages. Why is she being so rude to us?

It doesn't sound like she's rude at all. It sounds like you're being rude to her. She's 98 years old for crying out loud. She's far from young and she probably wants to just be left alone. You said that the neighbors said that no one has seen or heard from her for ages, has anyone checked on her to see if she's still alive? If she is still alive then you should just let it pile or something or if you live in apartments then throw out the old ones for her. She may be handy-capped and gave up on cleaning after herself. I would feel bad for her instead of getting mad at her.

How is she rude to YOU? Don't be so self involved. She is 98! Did you even stop for a second to think if she is still alive and okay? If you were my neighbor, I would answer the door and tell you off.

you're such a bit.ch. why dont you try to imagine how much it hurts just to be almost 100 years old.

im 21 and putting the bins out is a pain in the azz for ME. my god imagine a 98 year old woman doing it.

    you really are horrible

Hello????? Lights on no one home? How old are you? She is about 98, she lived her life, maybe she is tired and grumpy, why not be a nice person, and help her, rather then knocking on her door... I feel sorry for her to have you as a neighbor.

Maybe she's dead, dumb ***! Maybe you ought to be a good neighbor and help her out, or at least pick up her papers. Stop thinking about only yourself! She's not being rude, she's being old! You'll see one day and I hope someone tells you off. THEN, you'll understand.

It seems that you and all of the rest of the neighbors are rude considering the poor woman is as old as she is and probably can't get around.

You should all help her out by picking up the newspapers for her and help her get the trash out.

Maybe there is something wrong and someone should have someone check her out.

she is old. very old. so you all need to be very patient. the best way is to start it slowly. just be nice to her. try to help her in things. in this way u will earn both good deeds in your life and her respect towards you. its always a blessing to help the elderly.

old people are like very small kids. they are careless. they are forgetful because of being very old and memory loss problems.be patient and try to help her.

I sure hope this isn't a serious post. Civilized people don't act like you are. Read the beginning of your second sentence and then think about your grandmother.

she's not being rude... elderly people just act differntly. have you ever thought she's away for vacation and left her tv on?? my grandparents do that alot. or she's just asleep when you knock on the door. if she's that old she probably can't hear or walk very good either
