Using a 1919a6 for mule deer at medium ranges.?
Do you thing that a 1919a6 fitted out with a scope would be a good gun to hunt mule deer with in the canyons above Los Angeles? They have a nice heavy barrel, come with a built in bi-pod and are very accurate. The 30/06 should be good at the 200 to 300 yard ranges where good shots happen in this area. Of course, you would use five round belts.
I would use it off the pintle mount on the jeep, but then I would be firing it from a vehicle and that is against the law.
You have a shoulder stock for that Ma Deuce?

Anywhere I've hunted they really frowned on shooting from a vehicle. If I was in charge though I'd make an exception in this case.

I'll come and be your ammo bearer. It would be legal (at least in most states, but california is kinda, well, you know). It would be worth lugging it around just to see the looks on the other hunters faces. If you go, seriously, let us know. I want details.
